Infant/Toddler First Time Visits
The eruption of the first tooth is a milestone in your baby’s life. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommend the first office checkup visit to be by or before the child’s first birthday. At this visit, we’ll:
- Review your baby’s medical history and any concerns you have
- Examine your baby’s mouth surrounding tissues, ridges, any possible signs of eruption cyst or possible decay if have teeth
- Oral/dental cleaning
- Pre speech soft tissue evaluation
- Talk about nutrition and oral habbits
- Show you how to clean their teeth
Early and regular dental checkups can help your child avoid cavities, a problem that pertains to 40% of 2- to 5-year olds. Developing good dental hygiene from the first tooth will help your child grow strong teeth so they learn to chew properly and speak clearly, and make space for the permanent teeth to come in properly.
